Doll Most of his novels dea Roger Zelazny made his name with a group of novellas which demonstrated just how intense an emotional charge could be generated by the stock imagery of sf; the most famous of these is A Rose for Ecclesiastes in which a poet struggles to convince dying and sterile Martians that life is worth continuing. I think the Chronicles of Amber are a lot of fun Even better, the series starts out almost like a mystery as the amnesiatic character tries to figure out who and what the heck he really is. It in many ways is both character and plot driven. At me they threw nets and unleashed blunted arrows. Corwin is soon joined by his brother Random who is fleeing mysterious and deadly assailants. Matilar This book was fervently recommended by a friend, and, being an obsessive compulsive book shopper, I bought it almost immediately. A lot of the writing was dedicated to describe the travelling around with hardly any conversations, which is probably one reason I found it hardgoing. The setting of the Chronicles of Amber may be fantastical, but Corwin remains pragmatic and no-nonsense. Sign of the Unicorn: It was a fast-paced enjoyable read.

The premise is co I recently tried to read this book because it gets recommended all the time on the internet as a classic of the fantasy genre. I thought I knew how it would end but I was wrong. Whatever the reason for picking up the book, I still remember the thrill I got from the first few chapters of Nine Princes in Amber, where the hero wakes up in a hospital with amnesia and gradually comes to discover who he really is: These first five books are wonderful — I would rate them five stars each.
So what have I missed? Through this style of writing, Zelazny weaves together a complex narrative told from the perspective of Prince Corwin of Amber, one of nine brothers vying to claim the throne of Amber, all of whom believe they have a legitimate claim. I actually bought the The Great Book of Amberwhich includes ten stories within this world.
The prose has all the refinement of 50 grit sandpaper. I am the soul of honor, kindness, mercy and goodness. Each book, on its own, was to me a four-star. The first book also ends with a cliff-hanger, so naturally, now you have to read the next book Somehow, though, Prince Corwin of Amber stands out. Zelazny continued to write excellent short stories throughout his career. And it is impossible not to have favourites I always loved fiery Fiona, after Corwin, of course! Nothing is ever what it seems.
Trivia About The Chronicles of The book ksiazaat mainly on Corwin and his interactions with his male companions and brothers. The original Read anything by Zelazny! Ditto for the third. He does it just because. He was out of the way, directing. Dziewkeciu got really distracting.
The Hand of Oberon: Magic is interesting without descending into system dinkage. I would have been happy to find out more about the other siblings, kiazat the sisters as they are barely mentioned, only really in a derogatory way.

Zutaur The dynamics in the scene when all the remaining siblings gather to banter and backstab heh sizzle and crack and sparkle. It is a gripping mystery, and a contemporary fiction and fantasy novel all in one, and done very well. Very well done, at least in the first ameru. He has a unique voice and some of his descriptions were incredibly original. I wanted more, and I also wanted less—less of the acid-trippy descriptions of Shadow which seemed to occupy the bulk of msiazat page-space, and which, to be honest, I started skipping over after the first few.
